Keshet International (KI) will distribute the true crime documentary series My Name is Reeva: I Was Murdered by Oscar Pistorius at MIPCOM 2022.

Produced by WB Productions in partnership with Cactus Tree Entertainment, Bloodrose Productions, and Australia’s Global City Group, My Name is Reeva: I Was Murdered by Oscar Pistorius tells the true and intimate story of Reeva Steenkamp’s life and her murder at the hands of her then-boyfriend Oscar Pistorius - AKA the Blade Runner - on Valentine’s Day in 2013. Featuring exclusive access to Reeva’s parents, this three-parter also follows Barry and June Steenkamp on an emotional journey as they endure a victim offender dialogue (VOD) with their daughter’s murderer, a condition of Pistorius’ recent request for early parole.

As the 10-year anniversary of her death approaches, Reeva's senseless and brutal murder is still deeply embedded in the minds of millions across the globe. With the full endorsement of Barry and June Steenkamp, this moving docuseries gives life to Reeva’s existence through intimate interviews with both her parents as well as close friends and family, showing that a beautiful, intelligent, and beloved woman was taken in the prime of her life. My Name is Reeva: I Was Murdered by Oscar Pistorius also features an in-depth analysis of what happened that fateful night, presenting new evidence and theories not previously disclosed in court. In addition, viewers will also be confronted with the long-term impact of Reeva’s death on those who loved her most: including her parents, as they prepare to meet Pistorius face-to-face for the first time since being convicted of her murder, as part of the necessary VOD process - an integral part of South Africa’s restorative justice program - as they attempt to get closure and hopefully even peace...

Produced by David Taylor, My Name is Reeva: I Was Murdered by Oscar Pistorius is directed by Warren Batchelor (204: Getting Away with Murder), while the script was written by SAFTA-winner Justin Strydom (Isidingo, High Rollers). Described as “an emotionally-charged tribute to Reeva” by SA’s Sunday Independent, this three-part true crime docuseries received its world premiere on M-Net from 25 August on DStv Channel 101 to strong ratings (episode one is currently tracking 14% above slot average, with 1.71 TVRs).

KI will present My Name is Reeva: I Was Murdered by Oscar Pistorius to international buyers at MIPCOM 2022, where the global producer and distributor’s Sales team can be found at a new stand location R7:K22 within the Palais’ Riviera 7. Other slate highlights include Rabbit Films’ stylish coming-of-age thriller Summer of Sorrow (10x60’) - which was selected for the 2022 MIPTV Drama Showcase in April; Woodcut Media’s World’s Most Evil Killers (140x60’) and the competition reality format, The Perfect Dessert – which returns to Keshet 12 during the World Cup for a second season.
