Canale 5 will broadcast the Turkish series Kurt Seyit & Sura distributed by Eccho Righs on June 9 in prime time with the Italian title of La Ragazza e l'Ufficiale.

The series (46x45' eps.) tells the story of the dashing, womanising Lieutenant Kurt Seyit - the first son of a rich Crimean landowner of Turkish origin - who falls in love with Sura, the beautiful daughter of a noble Russian family. But Seyit's father has always been convinced his son should marry a Turkish girl and continue their line. Against the wishes of their families, the lovers flee together and make a dangerous journey across frozen wastelands to seek sanctuary in Istanbul during the last days of the Ottoman Empire where they must fight for their love against the forces of family, the expectations of society and the events of history.

Kurt Seyit & Sura was originally broadcast by Star TV (Turkey), produced by Ay Yapim, was sold in many countries reaching a global audience of 500 millions viewers.

The series is based on the best selling novel of Nermin Bezmen.
