Studio Dragon, a premium storyteller group, is poised to continue the worldwide phenomenon of "The Glory" in the second half of the year by presenting a remarkable lineup of global masterpieces.
Regarding Netflix series, the captivating journey begins with "Celebrity" on June 30th, followed by "Song of the Bandits," "Gyeongseong Creature," "Sweet Home 2," and "Doona!", and for Disney+ Originals, "Shadow Detective" is set to captivate audiences across the globe.
"Celebrity" portrays the glamorous yet competitive world of celebrities that Seo A-Ri (Park Gyu-young) encounters upon entering the realm of fame and fortune. The recently unveiled teaser offers a glimpse into Seo A-Ri's transformation from an ordinary individual to a prominent celebrity, leaving viewers intrigued.
"Song of the Bandits" is an action-packed series set in the lawless land of Gando during the turbulent Japanese colonial era. It brings together a diverse group of individuals with their own unique stories, uniting them in their heart to protect the Korean homeland. The stellar cast includes Kim Nam-Gil, Seohyun, Yoo Jae-Myung, Lee Hyun-Wook, and Lee Ho-Jung. Anticipation runs high for this enthralling narrative of Japanese soldiers, the independence army, hitmen, bandits, and displaced Koreans engaging in intense confrontations within Gando during the 1920s.
In "Gyeongseong Creature," a creature thriller set in the bleak spring of 1945, a young man and woman fight for survival against monsters born from human greed. Park Seo-jun portrays Jang Tae-sang – the head of merchant marketplace House of Golden treasure – is the wealthiest, most well-connected person in Gyeongseong. Han So-hee portrays Yun Chae-ok – a famous bounty hunter who can track down missing people, even ones who are dead. "Gyeongseong Creature" promises to deliver an intense and chilling experience.
"Sweet Home 2" continues the gripping narrative of Hyun-su (Song Kang) and the survivors of Green Home as they face new challenges in an unfamiliar territory. The cast from Season 1, including Song Kang, Lee Jin-uk, Lee Si-Young, Ko Min-si, and Park Gyu-young, returns, while newcomers Yoo Oh-Seong, Oh Jung-Se, Kim Moo-Yeol, and Jung Jin-young join the ensemble, adding fresh dynamics to the story.
The romance series "Doona!" follows the journey of Won-jun, an ordinary college student, who encounters a retired K-pop idol who has left her glorious days behind named Doona in a shared house. It is based on a popular webtoon of the same name that has gained immense popularity for its detailed portrayal of the emotions of romance with an idol housemate. Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong bring these characters to life, captivating audiences with their performances.
Recognized for its outstanding storyline in season one, “Shadow Detective” is slated to return for season two on July 5, only on Disney+. Picking up more than a year after the events of season one, “Shadow Detective 2” will follow veteran detective Taekrok (Lee Sung-min) as he works to track down the hidden mastermind behind the “Friend”. A teaser trailer for this exciting new season was recently released, with more to come in the following weeks.
Tving original series ‘A bloody Lucky Day’ is also set to premiere. It features a star-studded cast, including esteemed actors such as Lee Sung-Min, Yoo Yeon-Seok, and Lee Jung-Eun. As Oh Taek (Lee Sung-min), an ordinary taxi driver, drives a customer (Yoo Yeon-Seok) that offers him a high price to go to the faraway provinces, he realizes that the customer is indeed a serial killer, and thus begins a long, horrifying drive. ‘A bloody Lucky Day’ has been selected as a Paramount+ partnership and will be released in approximately 27 countries around the world, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, and France, where Paramount+ is available.

Meanwhile, dramas produced by Studio Dragon led the K-content phenomenon in the first half of 2023 with releases on multiple global OTT platforms, including ‘Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow (Part 2),’ ‘Crash Course in Romance,’ and ‘The Glory,’ which ranked among the top 10 non-English TV series on Netflix. ‘The Big Door Prize,’ which premiered on Apple TV+, has been in the top 10 list for TV shows in 101 countries according to Flixpatrol. The recently ended ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938’ was also released globally on Amazon Prime Video and earned a huge popularity in Southeast Asia, ranking as the #1 TV show in many countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
