Wheel of Fortune back in Italy and in UK 2024 after 20 years
The iconic game show Wheel of Fortune will be back in UK and Italy after many announces.
In Italy, the announcement was made during Mediaset's Gala for the 2023-2024 Schedule's presentation, while in the UK, the news was reported by the press as the   BAFTA award-winner Graham Norton, was announced as the new host.
ITV1 has commissioned an 8 x 60' reboot of the classic show in 2024.
Contestants spin a giant carnival wheel to secure a cash value, before choosing a latte to help them solve the puzzle. For every correct letter they reveal in the puzzle they win multiples of that amount. However, participants can lose everything if a spin of the wheel contains ‘bankrupts’ and ‘lose a turn’.
It's taken a few attempts with various talents to get this revival off the ground; a pilot with Alison Hammond was recorded in 2020.
The programme has aired continuously in the United States since 1975, however the British version ran from 1988 until 2001.
With Jeopardy! also set to return to UK screens, it seems the time is ripe for classic game show brands over here
