MIPTV confirmed the line-up for this year’s MIPDRAMA, the annual showcase which gives international buyers a curated exclusive early-stage preview of global high-end drama series. It will be held as a pre-opening showcase at the 61st edition of the Spring International Television Market in Cannes (8 – 10 April 2024).

First staged in 2016, MIPDRAMA returns for its eighth edition as a standalone event at 14.30 on Sunday 7 April 2024 in the Hi5 Studio of the world-famous Palais des Festivals in Cannes, and is this year hosted by journalist Olivia Kinghorst.

As previously, up to 15-minute-long previews of 10 upcoming series will be featured, selected for their quality in writing and production, originality and potential global appeal. After the screening, the audience will be invited to vote for their “Coup de Coeur” at a networking cocktail at which the winner will also be revealed.

The selection, spanning 14 languages across all titles, was made by a jury of leading international industry executives comprised of Geraldine Easter, Director of Programming and Acquisitions UK and Europe, Nine Network; Katie Keenan, Group Director of Acquisitions, UK/ROI and Europe, Sky; Anette Rømer, Formats Consultant, BBC Studios Nordic Productions; and Dr. Viktoria Wasilewski, Head of Content, Prime Video Italy; with Senior Directors, Acquisitions, for CBC Jenna Bordeausx and Radio-Canada, Simon Depuis contributing as co-Jurors.
