Atresmedia Takes Center Stage at Iberseries & Platino Industria 2024
Atresmedia is set to play a pivotal role in the fourth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria, the largest international event in the Ibero-American film industry. The event will take place from October 1 to 4, 2024, at the Matadero Madrid cultural space. It is promoted by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya, in collaboration with FIPCA, and supported by the Community of Madrid, Madrid City Council, ICEX Spain Export and Investment, along with sponsors such as Madrid Film Office and Film Madrid.

On Wednesday, October 2, Atresmedia Day will unfold as a major highlight of the event, featuring exclusive activities organized in partnership with Atresmedia. One of the key moments will be the Iberscreenings, where the newest and most recent fictional content from the media giant will be showcased.

Among the most anticipated presentations is the preview of El Gran Salto, a new series that dives into the life of Spanish Olympic champion Gervasio Deferr. The series portrays Deferr's journey to Olympic glory and his struggle through personal hardships. The star of the series, Oscar Casas, will also be present for a panel discussion.
Produced by Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Diagonal TV (Banijay Iberia), El Gran Salto boasts an impressive creative team. Executive producers include Montse García, Jordi Frades, and Ignasi Serra, with Jaume Banacolocha serving as producer. José Rodríguez is the creator and scriptwriter, and the series is directed by Roger Gual. The production team is led by Marta Creus and David Masllorens.
Oscar Casas stars as Gervasio Deferr, alongside a talented cast including Olivia Baglivi, Pau Roca, Greta Fernández, and many more. The series, based on Deferr's autobiography, will consist of five 50-minute episodes shot in various locations in Barcelona, with filming wrapping up in June. The drama will premiere on the Atresplayer platform later this year.

Atresmedia will also showcase three new series in the Second Window programme, aimed at international buyers. These exclusive screenings are designed to find new distribution opportunities:

Beguinas (Atresmedia TV, Buendía Estudios) is a 2024 drama about Lucía de Avellaneda, who enters a convent after receiving a message from her mother, only to question her former life and discover a forbidden love.

Eva & Nicole
(Atresmedia TV, The Good Mood Productions), a 2024 comedy-drama, follows Nicole’s seemingly perfect life in Marbella, which is disrupted when Eva, an acquaintance from her past, reappears.

Sueños de Libertad (Atresmedia TV, Diagonal TV) is a 2024 soap set in 1958 Spain, focusing on Begoña Montes, a woman trapped in a toxic marriage who seeks freedom.

In addition to exclusive screenings, Atresmedia will participate in a significant panel discussion, The State of Fiction: Trends for a Global Market, on Thursday, October 3. This session will bring together prominent professionals from the global film industry to explore current trends, investment strategies, and collaboration opportunities in fiction content.

The panel will feature leading commissioners from the United States, Latin America, and Spain, including Augusto Rovegno, Senior VP of Acquisitions at Vix (USA); Alex Medeiros, Head of Content for Drama & Documentaries at Globoplay Originals (Brazil); and Emilio Sánchez Zaballos, director of Atresplayer at Atresmedia (Spain). Sánchez Zaballos, who oversees the content strategy and management of Atresmedia’s online platforms, will share insights into the company’s approach to maintaining growth and audience engagement.

Atresmedia will also sponsor the Buyers Lounge, the official meeting point for international buyers and commissioners at the Iberseries & Platino Industria event.
