Fremantle and TF1 Partner on New Psychological Reality Format Master of the Game
Fremantle is partnering with TF1 to launch a brand-new original psychological reality format Master of the Game, which will see a group of celebrities team up to become the ultimate sleuths, working together to unravel a tangled web of intrigue and uncover the elusive Master of the Game.
In Master of the Game, twelve celebrities are invited to participate in a twist-and-turn mystery game, drawn in by a cryptic invitation and the promise of a substantial cash prize. Their deceptively straightforward task: identify the "Master of the Game", a charismatic and enigmatic figure who remains hidden and masked while orchestrating the entire experience, but The Master of the Game has secretly recruited one contestant as an accomplice to mislead the others.

In this investigative reality series, contestants navigate dramatic settings like the striking Room of 100 Faces — a gallery of celebrity portraits serving as potential suspects. They must balance cooperation with competition, solving puzzles and tackling immersive challenges to uncover clues. Each episode culminates in a tense voting ceremony, where the group eliminates a suspected accomplice and questions the Master. As the series builds to its thrilling conclusion, the remaining contestants must piece together the final clues to make one last guess: who is the Master of the Game?

Master of the Game is an original format created by Fremantle France with TF1. Fremantle will produce the series for TF1 and will handle international production and distribution for the new format.

Andrew Llinares, Director of Global Entertainment at Fremantle, said: “It has been a pleasure to team up with TF1 alongside our brilliant team in France to produce and develop this epic and innovative new format. Master of the Game is a fresh take on the psychological reality genre, which promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as they play along at home –with lots of shocking twists and turns as the celebrity investigators get to work on a range of innovative and immersive challenges to uncover the identity of the Master. We can’t wait for the first adaption to premiere in France and look forward to launching the format in other international markets.”

Julien Degroote, EVP Content Development at TF1, said: “Creating a format from A to Z with Fremantle was a brilliant adventure. Their creativity was impressive. And the quality of the production, down to the smallest detail, means we can offer premium content to our viewers. Master of the Game fits perfectly with our strategy of offering event-based family entertainment that encourages joint viewing and engagement. Each viewer has the opportunity to transform themselves into a detective from their own living room, actively engaging with the puzzles, exploring the clues and searching for the Master of the Game. The celebrities will have to carry out a double investigation: discover the identity of the mystery host, but also that of the accomplice, in order to eliminate him or her as quickly as possible. I guarantee audiences will be investigating with passion, but also laughing out loud at the antics of the accomplice, who will do everything in their power to deceive the celebrities.”

Master of the Game launches 11 October on TF1. Hosted by Laurent Ruquier, the French series features celebrities including Elsa Bois, Max Boublil, Cartman, Valérie Damidot, Frédéric Diefenthal, Arnaud Ducret, Claire Francisci-Ducret, Jeanfi Janssens, Kody, Chantal Ladesou, Sarah Mortensen and Francis Perrin.
