Formatbiz had the chance to meet Boarders EP Madeleine Sinclair at Geneva International Film Festival and ask some questions about the hit teen series.
We are here at the Geneva Film Festival, but you've just arrived from producing season two of Boarders, because you got the recommission. What stage are you at in the production process?
We are in post-production. We finished the 12-week shoot in September, and now we are in post. We've just locked episode three, which is great. Halfway there, and we will be hoping to finish editing all the episodes by Christmas.
Can you talk about the new partners who have come on board Season 2
We are delighted that Tubi and ZDF are joining us for Boarders series two. Tubi will take the series to North America and Latin America, ZDF will take the series to Germany. Both are joining commissioning broadcaster BBC.
You’ve just been to Geneva International Film Festival with Season 1, another French language festival that has selected the show and competition- you must be delighted!
Very excited. We had such a great time at Series Mania last year. We were thrilled with the reception. I remember going with Josh and Jodie, who played Jaheim and Leah, to the event and there was huge sort of crowd snaking around the block as you remember, which was brilliant, and they couldn't believe everybody was there for Boarders and it was a packed theater and we got standing ovation. It was just such a brilliant reception to the show, which we were so, so thrilled about. It's so nice for us to have this in another French language, then we're very excited to bring it to a new audience here and we hope everyone will love it just as much.
