Italian broadcaster RAI has announced its commission of 99 To Beat, the popular Belgian game show format, for a local adaptation. The Italian version, titled 99 da battere, will air on RAI2 as a six-part series starting January 2025. The show is being produced by Endemol Shine Italy.
99 To Beat, an original format created by VRT and De Chinezen, has been an international success since its debut on VRT in 2018. The show has been adapted in 10 countries, with multiple series airing in Germany (Sat.1), the Netherlands (SBS) and Norway (Warner Bros Discovery). Additional adaptations are set to launch in the UK (ITV1) and France (M6) in 2025.
The format’s unique concept—anyone can win as long as they don’t come last—has captured audiences worldwide. Contestants of all ages compete in 99 exciting games for a chance to win the jackpot.
Simone de Pruyssenaere, Director of Sales & Acquisitions at Primitives, said:"We are thrilled to bring 99 To Beat to the Italian audience with Endemol Shine Italy as our production partner. This collaboration continues the format’s incredible international journey and success."
