Format

This survival competition series pits 12 inexperienced competitors against each other in the unforgiving Canadian wilderness as they attempt to survive extreme conditions, dangerous ground and the threat of fearsome predators. But there is an interesting twist that distinguishes it from other similar formats: the contestants are not in control of their own destiny. In fact, a few miles away, their family members are locked up in a remote headquarters, watching them navigate their dangerous environment alone via a 24/7 live feed. Each amateur survivalist's family has the power to decide if their loved one has what it takes to brave the elements and fight to be the last one standing, or if the family will push the ominous "Extracted" button and remove their loved one and their entire family from the competition.
Extracted asks the question: how far will their loved ones let them go for a chance to win $250,000 for their family?
