Portobello from Marco Bellocchio to be the first Italian original series for MAX in 2026. Produced by Our Films
Portobello, the upcoming TV series directed by Marco Bellocchio, will be the first original production from Italy for MAX, the new streaming platform from the Warner Bros. Discovery group, set to launch in 2026.

The series is produced by Our Films, part of the Mediawan group, and Kavac Film, in co-production with Arte France and in collaboration with The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle company. It is produced by Lorenzo Mieli and Mario Gianani for Our Films and by Simone Gattoni for Kavac Film.

"Portobello" tells the story of Enzo Tortora, the renowned host of the Italian television program Portobello, who was accused by state witnesses of being involved in a Camorra-run drug trafficking ring.

The cast features Fabrizio Gifuni as Enzo Tortora, alongside Lino Musella, Romana Maggiora Vergano, Barbora Bobulova, Alessandro Preziosi, and Fausto Russo Alesi. The screenplay is written by Marco Bellocchio, Stefano Bises, Giordana Mari, and Peppe Fiore.

The cinematography is by Francesco Di Giacomo, production design by Andrea Castorina, costumes by Daria Calvelli, editing by Francesca Calvelli, and the original score composed by Teho Teardo.

The series will be available on the MAX streaming platform in all countries worldwide, except for France, Germany, and the Benelux region.
