DCD Rights has announced strong international sales for Sue Perkins’ Big Adventure: Paris to Istanbul, a 6 x 60’ travel documentary produced for Channel 4 UK and ABC Australia. Featuring acclaimed presenter and comedian Sue Perkins, the series has been acquired by APT (USA), BBC Earth (Poland, Africa, Asia), NRK (Norway), AMC Networks International (Central and Northern Europe), MAX (Netherlands), HRT (Croatia), RUV (Iceland), and GBC (Gibraltar).
In this modern take on the Grand Tour, Perkins travels from Paris to Istanbul, tracing the route of the famed Orient Express using a mix of local transport, immersing herself in the cultures, landscapes, and people along the way.
DCD Rights has also picked up Bill Bailey’s Vietnam Adventure (6 x 60’), another Perpetual Entertainment production. The award-winning comedian explores Vietnam’s vibrant culture and complex history, traveling off the beaten path from northern hill tribes to southern city markets and remote beaches.
DCD Rights CEO Nicky Davies Williams highlights the growing global appetite for personality-driven travelogues: “These series resonate worldwide thanks to their charismatic hosts and the rich, authentic storytelling that showcases each country in a unique light.”
