Avalon Acquires Minority Stake in It’s All Made Up Productions
Multi-award-winning director Philip Barantini (Boiling Point, Adolescence) and long-time collaborator Samantha Beddoe have announced that Avalon has acquired a minority stake in their fast-growing indie company, It’s All Made Up Productions.

The deal, in the works since last year, aligns the rising indie with Avalon—one of the UK’s leading production and talent management companies. With offices in London and plans to expand to Liverpool, the company already has a strong slate of projects in development with major broadcasters, studios, and streamers in the UK and US. Their focus is on drama, film, and documentary, championing underrepresented voices and stories.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Avalon, who really get our creative vision,” said Beddoe. “They’ll help us grow while staying true to our mission.”

Barantini added, “We want to tell powerful, resonant stories at scale—and Avalon is the perfect partner to help us reach that next level.”

Avalon CEO Laura Kennedy praised the duo as “exceptional creative talents with outstanding taste.”

Barantini, known for directing Boiling Point and Accused for Netflix, recently saw Adolescence reach Netflix’s global top 10 with nearly 97 million views in just three weeks. Beddoe, a former production finance exec, has worked with Disney, FX, and BBC, and co-produced several major titles with Barantini.

Advised by ABP Advisory, the deal will help the duo invest in infrastructure, retain rights, and scale their operations into a transatlantic production powerhouse.
