Leading independent distributor all3media international has signed new deals with Japan’s Wowow and Tohokushinsha Film Corporation which will see three scripted series from multi-award-winning production company, Two Brothers Pictures, making their debut in the territory. The acquisitions are announced as all3media international prepares to showcase its multi-genre slate of new content at the Asia Television Forum in Singapore.
Japanese Pay TV channel Wowow has signed both 6 x 30’ seasons of breakout hit Fleabag, written by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge (No Time to Die, Killing Eve). A bittersweet confessional of a woman trying to make sense of the world, Fleabag – which is produced for BBC Three and Amazon Prime Video - has received huge acclaim around the world, including multiple Primetime Emmys. The series also stars Olivia Colman, Hugh Dennis, Bill Paterson, Hugh Skinner, Brett Gelman and Sian Clifford.
The Wowow deal also features the first 6 x 60’ season of the tense and gripping thriller Liar starring Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd. Written by Harry and Jack Williams (The Missing) and produced for ITV and AMC, Liar tells the story of a night that changes the lives of two people forever – examining both sides of a relationship and both sides of the truth. A second series of Liar is set to launch in the UK soon.
Drama thriller Baptiste (6 x 60’) will debut in Japan through a new agreement with Tohokushinsha Film Corporation. Produced for BBC One and also written by Harry and Jack Williams, Baptiste sees Tchéky Karyo reprise his The Missing role as insightful but stubborn investigator Julien Baptiste, who returns to investigate dark secrets on the streets of Amsterdam. This latest deal follows Tohokushinsha’s recently announced acquisition of three-part drama Mrs Wilson from all3media international.
Fleabag, Liar and Baptiste are all produced by Two Brothers Pictures – an all3media group producer - in association with all3media international.
