Under the new industrial plan, approved by Rai’s board, the company will be organized by genres instead of by TV channels. In the reshuffle, new directors were named for the channels Rai1, Rai2 and Rai3, as well as for other key departments.

AD Fabrizio Salini presents the new channel and genre director. Only someone obtained the majority of votes: Stefano Coletta at the direction of Rai1 and the Prime Time Entertainment, Franco Di Mare at the Day time Entertainment, Angelo Teodoli at the Genre Coordination, Luca Milano as head of the kids’ division, Rai Ragazzi. Rai’s renewed kids’ division will be creating children’s content not only for the two kid-focused channels Rai Yoyo (preschool) and Rai Gulp, but also for the free VOD service Rai Play and eventually for children’s programs across all channels.

The majority of the votes (4 votes out of 7) were not obtained for Ludovico Di Meo for Rai 2 and the direction of Cinema and TV series, for Silvia Calandrelli to Rai 3 and Culture, for Eleonora Andreatta for Fiction and for Duilio Giammaria for Documentaries.

RAI 1 CHANNEL DIRECTOR - STEFANO COLETTA [in pictures]
Stefano Coletta leaves Rai3 to become the director of the flagship network, Rai1. To him also the prime time entertainment. He was born in 1965 in Abruzzo, he graduated in Literature and Philosophy and has been a professional journalist since 1999. He began his career in Rai in 1991 as editor, correspondent and host of radio programs. He was hired on Rai in 2001 as an official and worked as author and project manager of some programs such as Mi Manda Rai3, Amore Criminale, Tatami, Cominciamo Bene, Racconti di Vita, Lasciatemi Divertire. In 2008 he contributed to the development of programs such as Chi L’ha Visto? and he also worked on programming. In 2013 he became vicedirector of Rai3, while in 2017 he became the head of the network. His direction of Rai3 is remembered for the great experimentation and the launch of quality formats. He contributed to the return of Serena Dandini to Rai for the anniversary of La Tv delle Ragazze and the return of Raffaella Carrà as an interviewer with A Raccontare Comincia Tu. His "creatures" are also Le Ragazze with Gloria Guida, the specials with Ezio Bosso and much more shows.

RAI 2 CHANNEL DIRECTOR - LUDOVICO DI MEO
Ludovico Di Meo will be the new director of Rai2. To him also the direction of Cinema and Seriality.
Di Meo joined Rai when he was 25 yo. He was director of Rai1, director programmer, then host and also responsible for the morning daytime programs. He hosted the morning shows of the flagship network, UnoMattina, in the 1996/97 season. Later he became vicedirector of Rai1 with delegation and he was responsible for prime time, developing many programs and contributing to the success of various Festival di Sanremo. He also held the role of head of information and service, institutional and investigative sections of Rai1.

RAI 3 CHANNEL DIRECTOR - SILVIA CALANDRELLI
Silvia Calandrelli is the new director of Rai 3 who still keeps the direction of Rai Cultura (since 2014), the structure of Rai which deals with Rai Scuola, Rai Storia, Rai 5, the National Symphony Orchestra and the productions of prose and cultured music for generalist networks
Born in Rome in 1963, she became Rai employee in 1989 as a programmer and director. From 1989 to 1995, she worked as a programmer, director and author for the radio program Radiodue 3131 and, subsequently, for Rai Radio 3, for programs such as Palomar - Viaggio intorno alla scienza, Mosaico and Radio 3 Suite. In 1991, she worked as a consultant for Rai 2, within the Cinema structure. From 1995 to 1999, she collaborated with Videosapere and with Rai Educational which, today, is named Rai Cultura. As project manager and author, she worked for La storia del pensiero filosofico dalle origini al Novecento with Hans Georg Gadamer, for Il grillo, for the Multimedia Encyclopedia of Philosophical Sciences and for Media, the first digital literacy program of Rai. In 1999 she passed to the direction of the display cases and thematic/educational services, in 2000, however, she was called to manage the Contents Entertainment area of ​​Rai Net. In 2006, she started working in the direction of Rai 3 while in 2007 she was appointed vicedirector of New Media and Director of Rai Net with powers on the product and technology. The following year, she became head of Rai Net's Offer Development Area. In 2010, she was appointed vicedirector of Rai 3, with direct responsibility for Programming, Marketing and Product Innovation while in 2011 she assumed the direction of Rai Educazione.
