Ecuadorian broadcaster Teleamazones and Bolivian network Red Uno have picked up dramas Mother and Woman, My Life For My Children from Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV.
The dramas will be dubbed into Spanish for broadcast in Ecuador and Bolivia titled Madre and Mujer, Todo Por Mis Hijos. The deal marks the first time both series have become available in the Latin American market as finished programmes.
Mother tells the story of an abused schoolgirl who turns to a primary school teacher for help, with both eventually escaping town pretending to be mother and daughter.
The series has been sold as a scripted format into Turkey, South Korea and Ukraine and a deal for a French remake has also been reached.
Woman, My Life for My Children follows a struggling single mother as she tries to raise her two children. In 2013, the series won the Mipcom buyers’ award and was also sold as a format into Turkey, and has since been licensed in almost 40 countries. This is the first time, however, that the original has been picked up outside of Asia.
