IWC's Britain's Most Historic Towns returns for a 3rd run on Channel 4
IWC, a Banijay Group company, announces it has been commissioned to make a third 7x60’ series of Britain’s Most Historic Towns for Channel 4. The historical prime-time show’s increased order is due to air later this year.
In each episode of Britain’s Most Historic Towns, Professor Alice Roberts looks at a key period of history through the story an individual town. Alice will visit the surviving buildings and landmarks that serve as reminders of bygone eras, while local historians tell the stories of key individuals who have sometimes been forgotten in the history books. To understand what life was like for ordinary people in the past, Alice will once again seek out immersive experiences as well as highlighting the darker sides of some of the most iconic figures in British history. In this third series, Roberts will be visiting Elizabethan Plymouth, Medieval Lincoln, Restoration London, British Empire Portsmouth, Georgian Edinburgh, Victorian Glasgow and Industrial Revolution Manchester.
