Danish pubcaster DR announced that its new drama series Cry Wolf has snapped the Golden Eye Award 2020 for Best Series at Zürich Film Festival. The series will premiere domestically in DR1 Sunday, October 11th.
Produced by DR Drama and Claudia Saginario, Cry Wolf is the intense and emotional story of a teenage girl who has written a vivid school essay detailing her stepfarther's violent behavior. The parents deny the accusations, but who is lying - and who is telling the truth?
The 8-part series is the first TV drama for the acclaimed Danish filmmaker Pernille Fischer Christensen (Becoming Astrid, A Family). Episodic directors are May El-Toukhy (Queen Of Hearts), Samanou Sahlstrøm (Follow The Money) and Niclas Bendixen (Ditte & Louise). The series is based on a script by head-writer Maja Jul Larsen (The Legacy, Borgen).
DR Sales handles global distribution.
