It is the company’s first production to get underway since it was launched a year ago by parent company BIM Distribution, which is part of the pan-European Wild Bunch Group.
BIM Produzione is making the show in collaboration with Rai Fiction, the production arm of Italian pubcaster Rai, as an original series for its RaiPlay streaming platform.
Nudes tells the stories of three teenagers who must deal with the aftermath of their nude images being spread online via social media. The original anthology series debuted on NRK in Norway last year.
The Italian 10×20’ adaptation will be directed by Laura Luchetti, who said: “Nudes is a project I care a lot about because it gives me the opportunity to depict in an in-depth and realistic way the revenge porn phenomenon, an existing alarming reality among young people.”
Emanuela Canonico, Valerio D’Annunzio, Matteo Menduni and Giulio Fabroni are writing the Italian version, with Riccardo Russo producing.
The original Norwegian series is distributed by Wild Bunch TV and has been picked up internationally by channels including digital net BBC3 in the UK.
