La Jauría heads to HBO Max
Fremantle Spanish-language psychological thriller La Jauría, produced with Oscar award-winning Fabula, has been acquired by WarnerMedia’s streaming service HBO Max.

The series, starring Daniela Vega, will launch on the platform, under the English language name The Pack, to US audiences on 8 December 2020.

La Jauría is centred around the disappearance of a young girl in a Catholic school, who stages a protest and unwittingly becomes the centre of a police investigation. The investigation exposes a deadly online game which recruits men to commit acts of aggression toward women, brought to light when a video of the young girl’s own assault goes viral after she vanishes.

Sheila Aguirre, EVP of Content Distribution and Format Sales, Latin America, International, Fremantle, who brokered the deal with HBO Max, said “We are extremely proud to be partnering with HBO Max for La Jauría. It’s a gripping, compelling and timely drama that addresses important topical issues regarding the epidemic of violence against women. We are confident HBO’s audience will be moved by the standout storyline and the powerful performances from the outstanding cast.

Angela Poblete, Regional Head of TV at Fabula said: “We are thrilled that the first season of La Jauría is finding new audiences around the world and we are delighted that HBO Max has chosen our series for their platform in the United States. We hope that it will be as well received in the US as it was in Latin America.”

The series is directed by the acclaimed Lucía Puenzo (The German Doctor and Cromo) and produced by Fremantle and Fabula, along with Argentine company Kapow as associate producer, in partnership with Chilean pubcaster TVN and the Consejo Nacional de Televisión (CNTV).

Fremantle’s President of Global Drama, Christian Vesper, is an executive producer of the series along with Fabula’s Juan de Dios and Pablo Larraín, Ángela Poblete and Juan Ignacio Correa.

La Jauría first debuted on Amazon Prime Video across audiences in Latin America and Spain in July 2020, ad we have now sold the series to 73 territories worldwide. Production on season two of the series is currently underway in Chile.
