Highly anticipated new Rai's drama series Il Commissario Ricciardi (Commissioner Ricciardi, 6x100'), based on the homonymous novels by Maurizio de Giovanni (published by Einaudi), aired on Monday starting from today, January 25, on Rai 1 prime time slot, recorded a very strong result with almost 6mln with 24.1% share.
A journey back in time set in a Naples of the thirties, theater of heinous crimes and murderers difficult to ensure justice, but also the territory of action of the young and upright commissioner Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi played by Lino Guanciale. Introverted and solitary, Ricciardi has a particular intuition and determination for investigations, a real obsession fueled by what he calls "the Fact", a particular dowry inherited from the mother who keeps secret to everyone: he manages to solve very complicated cases thanks to his ability to perceive the thoughts that invaded the victims’ mind before to die.
Starring with Lino Guanciale: Antonio Milo, in the role of Brigadier Maione, friend and trusted man of Ricciardi; Enrico Ianniello in that of the pathologist Bruno Modo; Serena Iansiti as Livia, a rich and beautiful former opera singer determined to win the heart of the commissioner and Maria Vera Ratti in those of Enrica, the sweet and shy neighbor of Ricciardi’s house, a beauty not flashy but intriguing for the policeman introvert.And again, Mario Pirrello is the ambitious and caretaker Vice Commissioner Garzo; Nunzia Schiano plays Rosa, the elderly nanny who takes care of Ricciardi as a son; Fabrizia Sacchi plays the role of Lucia, the wife of Brigadier Maione; Marco Palvetti is Falco and Peppe Servillo Don Pierino.
A Rai Fiction-Clemart srl co-production, produced by Massimo Martino and Gabriella Buontempo, directed by Alessandro D'Alatri. Scripts are signed by the same Neapolitan writer Maurizio de Giovanni together with Salvatore Basile, Viola Rispoli and Doriana Leondeff.
