The South African channel SABC 1 (part of digital platform VIU) will broadcast the series from Monday to Wednesday at 19:30 p.m. with the title of uBettina Wethu.
It was produced by Known Associates Entertainment Pty Ltd. They were in charge of bringing to life iconic characters like “Beatriz Pinzón” and “Armando Mendoza” with a stellar cast like Farieda Metsileng, who will be portraying the lead role, Betty Sikhakhane (Betty), and Zweli Dube playing the role of Dingaan Jiyane (Armando Mendoza).
“We are so proud to have Farieda Metsileng, as the very first African Betty ever!” said Tshepiso Chikapa Phiri, uBettina Wethu Producer. “When we started the casting process, we wanted to cast the net as wide as possible and in order to give a fair chance to talented actors and actresses who may not usually have access to agents or auditions.” Continues Phiri.
uBettina Wethu’s cast is made up of familiar faces and an exciting selection of new talent, who wowed directors with online audition submissions earlier this year. The open call aided to the formation of a diverse cast comprising of seasoned actors and newcomers.
