FormatBiz | Rai 1 medical drama Cuori won the slot with more than 4 million viewers in prime time

Rai 1 premiered a new drama series Cuori (Hearts) on Sunday, October 17 at 21.30 that recorded 19.4% audience share with 4.1mln viewers. The series is dedicated to a group of medical pioneers who revolutionized the nascent cardiac surgery in the 1960s, experimenting new techniques.

Cuori is a co-production of Rai Fiction and Aurora TV Banijay with Rai Production Center in Turin and the support of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte, directed by Riccardo Donna, starring Daniele Pecci, Matteo Martari and Pilar Fogliati as the three geniuses and ambitious doctors of the Molinette hospital in Turin.

In the first episode entitled The American and I Swedish, Cesare Corvara, head of the "Molinette" hospital, is gathering a team in Turin to carry out the first heart transplant in history.
