Much loved actor Terence Hill playing the role of Don Matteo is leaving after twenty years of success.
The series with 250 episodes broadcast by Rai 1 is the long-running drama aired by the Italian broadcasters.
Produced by Lux Vide with Rai Fiction, the series reached 13 seasons with an average share of 6mln viewers.
This thirteenth edition sees the farewell of Don Matteo as Terence Hill is passing his role to Raul Bova, who entres in episode five as Don Massimo a new priest.
Don Matteo had an important role in the Italian society, filming the chances and some of contemporary's thems from teen's problems to adults topics (child, violence, women's rights etc.). As usual, the main character follows investigations - Don Matteo helps to resolve some cases with the local Carabinieri's office.
The aim of the series has been to face real problems with serenity and hope for the future.
In these last episodes already aired by Rai 1, Don Matteo welcomes Federico, a seventeen year old with a difficult past behind him: abandoned by his mother, he wants to take care of his brother Clementino, a newborn of a few months. Thanks to the encounter with the priest he will learn to overcome difficulties and create a new life for himself and his little brother.
