Based on novel of the same name by Goliarda Sapienza (published by Giulio Einaudi Editore), the series is produced by Sky and HT Film - and tells the story of a little girl from Sicily in the early 1900s who discovers sexuality and the desire for a better life than she always had.
The main character is an unconventional, sensual and courageous girl, Modesta, animated by an insatiable desire for knowledge, love and freedom. She will find herself inside a society with rules she will breaks and she will be forced to make extreme choices for live your life.
Written by Valeria Golino, Francesca Marciano, Valia Santella, Luca Infascelli and Stefano Sardo, will be shot mainly in Sicily.
