The company announced that media and entertainment industry vet Marjolein Duermeijer has been promoted to the newly established role of Chief Content Officer, based in The Netherlands. This news comes on the heels of Ryff naming Sean Moran as its Executive Chairman and adding highly regarded industry veterans to its Board, including Sophie Watts and Jae Goodman.
Duermeijer has been elevated from the position of EVP Content at Ryff, where she has been building relationships with content creators since 2020. She has been responsible for successfully onboarding several key networks and content creators and supports them on their journey to optimize advertising. As Chief Content Officer, she will lead the team responsible for signing partnership deals with TV networks, platforms, and content creators.
“Mar is a proven, enthusiastic, and dedicated leader in the media and entertainment industry. We are proud to elevate Mar to this critical position within Ryff. She will face new challenges, but I am confident in her abilities to do a fantastic job,” says Roy Taylor, CEO and Founder of Ryff. “She will make an outstanding contribution to our leadership team.”
Duermeijer’s TV career began as a producer, where over time she grew into a widely oriented industry expert and worked for major media companies such as Discovery and Fox. In recent years, she created Insight TV, a 4K global linear and digital channel, where she was responsible for the workflow and content of the channel. At entertainment production and distribution company Endemol Shine, Duermeijer led the global brand operations department.
“I have always been passionate about combining content, data, technology, and innovation,” Duermeijer says. “My position as CCO at Ryff allows me to continue helping set new innovative and efficient industry standards for the end-to-end content creation and delivery workflow.”
Ryff’s AI technology analyzes every pixel of footage in content, detects objects, people, and surfaces, and then dynamically inserts creatively and contextually appropriate brands into the content. This new way of advertising builds a bridge between brands and content and allows content owners and distributors to create a fully scalable and flexible way to optimize monetization, localization and workflows while brands can build targeted campaigns across entire libraries.
Ryff ‘s technology is one of the newest offerings that allows Networks to embark on an innovative advertising offering. With this brand new technology Ryff is a great solution for the current ad discussion and a fast growing player in the market.
Duermeijer will be lending her industry expertise and valuable POV at major upcoming industry events, such as MipCom in Cannes, Content London, and SXSW 2023 in Austin, TX.
