Banijay today announces the appointment of Cédric Brignon as its Chief Financial Officer. In his new post, he will be charged with overseeing the organisation’s overarching finance strategy, while working alongside the wider executive committee on delivering against its general long-term business plan and M&A ambitions.
Commencing the role on 1 November, Brignon boasts an impressive track record in the media and entertainment industry, in which he has led healthy finance operations across all realms of the content world – from physical production to digital distribution. He joins Banijay from Netflix, where he most recently served as Vice President Studio Finance for EMEA. In post for three years, he took care of the streamer’s finance function for all content production and acquisition in the region, and subsequently played a vital role in the global giant’s significant international growth performance over the past few years. As a regional lead, he also handled the coordination of the Netflix Studio Strategy and financial planning across his territory remit.
Prior to Netflix, he stood as Vice President Finance - IT, Real Estate, France & Benelux, for Warner Bros Entertainment. There for five years, he led the finance function for the territories’ distribution business, which comprises theatrical, home entertainment, television, consumer products, and local productions. Included alongside his general responsibilities were long-term business modelling and development, and business reorganisation.
With over two decades of experience in finance and management, Brignon started his career in Audit and Consulting at PwC in Paris, before moving to the media and content industry, where he spent almost ten years at Technicolor in positions across France and the US.
As CFO at Banijay, he will report to Chief Executive Officer, Marco Bassetti.
