Korean dramas make their UK television debut for the first time
CJ ENM's top series, Train and Monstrous, are airing on Sky. They are the first Korean dramas ever broadcast on UK television.

The two shows are commissioned on Sky's television channel 'Sky Sci-Fi', which specializes in science-fiction, fantasy, and horror shows and movies, and Sky’s streaming platform 'NOW'.

Train is a story about a detective who jumps back and forth between two parallel universes trying to uncover the truth behind the death of his loved one. The sci-fi series stars Korean A-list actor Yun Si-yun and rising actress Gyeong Su-jin. Currently on-air, two episodes are broadcast every week. Train is expected to be successful with the more qualified EPG that is offered from the rebrand of the Sky Sci-Fi channel.

Monstrous is a supernatural thriller story that chases a bizarre, haunted ancient Buddha statue that deceives people through its evil spirit. The drama, created by Yeon Sang-ho of Train to Busan and Hellbound, casts Koo Kyo-hwan of D.P. Starting this week, two episodes will be aired every week.

While the two dramas are broadcast in the Korean language along with English subtitles, the streaming service will offer not only the Korean language but also an English dubbed version as well.

Diane Min, the head of International Content Sales, said: "CJ ENM is proud to introduce Train and Monstrous as the first Korean dramas to the UK. As the hit drama series in Korea, we expect them to successfully pull in many British viewers and expand the global impact of Korean dramas."

Zai Bennett, Managing Director, Content Sky UK and Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled that Train and Monstrous have landed on the Sky Sci-Fi channel, ready for fiction fans to feast their eyes on and enjoy.”
