Margherita delle stelle, a TV movie directed by Giulio Base
and written by Monica Zapelli with Federico Taddia, has just started
production. The movie is based from the memoir Nove vite come i gatti
(tr. Nine lives as the cats), written by Margherita Hack with the
collaboration of Taddia.
A hundred years after the birth of Margherita
Hack, this movie portrays an intimate and emotional picture of the Italian astrophysicist,
a true model of emancipation and exceptional authenticity. Cristiana Capotondi
is set to star as Margherita, while Cesare Bocci will portray her father,
Roberto. Next to them, Sandra Ceccarelli and Flavio Parenti will respectively play
her mother and Aldo De Rosa, Hack’s husband. The movie traces the life of the Florentine
researcher, from independent and curious child to free-spirited, nonconformist
girl, to finally becoming the first woman to lead the Astronomical Observatory
of Trieste.
Margherita delle stelle is a Rai Fiction-Minerva Pictures movie
production, produced by Santo Versace and Gianluca Curti. It will be broadcast
soon on Rai 1.
