Orange Film’s Evelyne tra le nuvole, a
comedy written and directed by Anna Di Francisca, is being released in movie
theatres in Italy. It is a green, slow-paced comedy that makes people
rediscover the pleasure of living in contact with nature. The story revolves
around Sofia, a woman living in an old farmhouse next to the Stone of Bismantova
(Reggio Emilia), in a rural town where even the word Internet sounds
unfamiliar. She runs a farmhouse hosting peace-seeking tourists and takes care
of her cows. But that place is in the ideal location to place a telephone tower
that will bring progress to the whole area. How can nature and silence coexist
with technology that can improve our lives?
Eleonora Giovanardi, Gilbert Melki (French
actor leading Michaël Youn’s BDE movie and Netflix’s TV series Le Bazar de la
Charité), Antonio Catania and Violante Placido play the leading roles. Renowned
French actress Claire Nebout and Italian actors Andrea Roncato, Marco Maccieri and
Lucia Vasini round up the cast.
Anna Di Francisca is also director and
scriptwriter of La bruttina stagionata, nominated to the David di Donatello Awards
and to the Nastro d’Argento, and Due uomini, quattro donne e una mucca
depressa, alongside a large amount of TV series and documentaries.
The movie, made with the support of the
Emilia-Romagna Region through Emilia-Romagna Film Commission and the Ministry
of Culture, was produced and distributed by Orange Film, and it will be
released in movie theatres starting Thursday, March 30th.
