Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) is producing the first ever localised series of classic cartoon Tom & Jerry, based in Singapore.
Produced in Asia with Warner Bros Animation, the new series comprises 7×3’ shorts and will premiere on Cartoon Network in Asia Pacific (APAC) and HBO Go in South-east Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong later this year, before being rolled out globally. A pilot episode will be released in August.
The series will be animated by AUM Animation Studios in India, with stories and designs from Singapore-based Robot Playground Media and Chips and Toon Studios.
Carlene Tan, WBD’s director of original productions and development for kids in the APAC region, is producing. AUM Animation’s CEO Vivek Bolar is lead director.
