101 Films International, an Amcomri Entertainment company, confirms a raft of sales for action spy-thriller Dark Asset, starring Byron Mann (Wu Assassins, The Big Short), Robert Patrick (The Protégé, Terminator 2), Helena Mattsson (American Horror Story, Seven Psychopaths), Shani Rigsbee (Guardian Angel, House of Sand and Fog) and Sabina Gadecki (False Positive, Capps Crossing: Wrong Side of Dead).
The fast-paced thriller has been picked up by Saban Films for North America, ANZ and Benelux, who will be releasing the film theatrically and digitally on the 22nd of September. Further sales have been secured with Meteor Film – Germany, 101 Films – UK, M-Net (MultiChoice Group) – South Africa, Daro – Eastern Europe/CIS and MultiVisionnaire – Taiwan.
Dark Asset, a Lankis Entertainment production in association with Crows Film, Cherokee Productions LLC, Across The Board Entertainment, Transnational Arts Entertainment and Interdimensional VFX is written and directed by Michael Winnick (Guns, Girls and Gambling), story by Winnick and Terri Farley-Teruel and produced by Shani Rigsbee, Sargon Yoseph, Narbeh Tatoussian, Lida Mohaghegh, Jeanette Zepeda, Terri-Farley-Teruel, Lan Kay and Ned Kisner. Mann, Winnick, Patrick, Lan Kisner, Kenneth Siu, Alan Vuong, Quan Minh Nguyen, Andy Lyon and Michael Walker are exec producers.
John (Mann), a charming man, attempts to pick up an unimpressed woman Jane (Mattsson) in a bar by spinning a tale involving spies, implanted microchips and the dangerous military scientist (Patrick) hunting him. But what if it’s all true? And who’s really picking up whom?
