Paramount+ UK & Ireland announced the new drama series Little Disasters (6 x 60”), starring Diane Kruger and Jo Joyner as Jess and Liz. Produced by Roughcut Television with Fremantle distributing internationally, the series is adapted from Sarah Vaughan’s novel. It is a psychological thriller about female friendships and motherhood, featuring Shelley Conn, Emily Taaffe, JJ Feild, Ben Bailey Smith, and Stephen Campbell Moore.
The story follows four expectant mothers whose friendships are tested when Jess’s baby suffers an unexplained head injury, forcing Liz, an A&E doctor, to decide whether to call social services on her friend. This decision sparks events that strain families and friendships.
Kruger, known for her roles in Troy and Inglourious Basterds, said the series explores societal judgments on mothers and the fragility of reputation. Joyner, from The Wives and Shakespeare & Hathaway, looks forward to portraying Liz's tough choices.
The series, adapted by Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke, is produced by Roughcut Television with executive producers Ash Atalla, Alex Smith, Marianna Abbotts, Simon Judd, director Eva Sigurdardottir, and producer Myf Hopkins. LITTLE DISASTERS was commissioned by Sebastian Cardwell and Paul Testar for Paramount+ UK & Ireland.
The series will be available exclusively on Paramount+ in the UK & Ireland, with global sales handled by Fremantle.
