All3Media International Unveils Diverse Slate of Unscripted Formats and Factual Series for MIPCOM
All3Media International presents diverse slates of unscripted programming yet at MIPCOM 2024. Alongside premium factual series, long-running true crime, new series from returning favourites, and more, it will also introduce a range of brand-new formats from renowned producers such as Studio Lambert, IDTV and Optomen.
Among the highlights is Parenthood, a major new BBC One series produced by Silverback Films, known for their natural history expertise. The series explores the extraordinary challenges of animal parenting, showcasing heartwarming and dramatic stories from the animal kingdom.

72 Films will present Trump: The Criminal Conspiracy Case, a feature-length documentary for the BBC, offering a detailed, observational look at Donald Trump's efforts to reclaim political power. Another highly anticipated release is Barbie’s Dirty Secrets, an investigative documentary by ZANDLAND, providing never-before-seen insights into the inner workings of Barbie and Mattel. The documentary promises to deliver a balanced, thought-provoking look into the toy giant, available for global licensing.

Nutopia’s Jesus: Crown of Thorns combines historical drama with expert commentary to tell the definitive story of one of history’s most significant figures. The film mixes gripping, action-packed drama with insightful analysis from scholars. Additionally, Lion TV’s Irresistible: Why We Can’t Stop Eating takes a deep dive into the science of ultra-processed foods, exposing the hidden dynamics of the food industry and questioning its impact on public health.

These titles join an already robust slate of recent launches, including The Body Next Door from Raw, which became Sky Documentaries' highest-rated series of the year, alongside the critically acclaimed Spacey Unmasked and Ukraine: Enemy in the Woods.

In the true crime genre, All3Media introduces a range of content from new group producer Bright North Studios. This includes all four seasons of FBI True (48 episodes total), where real FBI agents recount their most dangerous and notorious cases. Paramount+ is home to PD True, offering viewers a gritty look at American law enforcement’s most shocking cases. Adding to this is Holly Jolly Homicides, a holiday-themed true crime series exploring dark stories set during the festive season.

On the lighter side, popular human-dog matchmaking shows like The Dog House (season five) and The Dog Academy (season two) from Five Mile Films return, offering heartwarming and entertaining narratives. Fans of reality TV will enjoy the return of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars USA, where the celebrity chef, alongside Lisa Vanderpump, mentors aspiring business owners in the competitive culinary world.

Epic adventures continue in the BAFTA-winning series Race Across the World, now in its fourth season, which follows duos traveling across Asia. The second celebrity edition, set in South America, will also air, both produced by Studio Lambert for BBC One. In addition, Joe Lycett returns for Travel Man: 48 Hours In… (series 13), taking celebrity guests on whirlwind weekend trips to places like Malaga, Rotterdam, and Washington DC.

New unscripted formats making their debut at MIPCOM include Studio Lambert’s The Anonymous, a strategic reality competition where players compete both in the real world and anonymously. Optomen's Bad Boyfriends offers a humorous twist on relationship rehab, as bad boyfriends are flown to a paradise destination to be transformed, unbeknownst to them, by their long-suffering girlfriends. Hosted by Olivia Attwood, the original 12-part series is available for licensing.

From IDTV, creators of The Traitors, comes Turn on the Charm, a reality competition that combines a flirty road trip with high-stakes challenges, as 12 single contestants charm their way to a cash prize. The Traitors continues to expand globally, with 30 local versions and a highly successful merchandising line including board games, card games, and more. The US version recently won its third Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition Program.

Other major formats available for adaptation include The Underdog, a reality competition from Primal Media and GroupM, and Picture Slam, an addictive quiz show originally produced by Triple Brew Media for BBC One, which has been renewed for a second series. Studio Lambert's Buy It Now
