All3Media International has secured new European deals for both seasons of The Gold, Tannadice Pictures’ acclaimed crime drama. Inspired by the true events of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery, the six-part series, written by Neil Forsyth (Guilt, Eric, Ernie & Me), continues to expand its global reach.
Following strong pre-sales worldwide, both seasons have been acquired by PBS’s Masterpiece for U.S. and Canadian audiences, while CBC Gem secured VOD rights. Additional deals include MagentaTV/Telekom (Germany), Stan (Australia), Rialto Channel (New Zealand), BBC Studios (Asia & India), and ERR (Estonia). Newly announced sales see Season 1 heading to RTP2 (Portugal), RTE (Ireland), and Pickbox NOW & Pickbox TV (Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina). Meanwhile, Season 2 will air on NPO (Netherlands), COSMOTE TV (Greece), and MTV (Finland).
New first-look images showcase returning cast members, including Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, Emun Elliott, Tom Cullen, Stefanie Martini, and Sam Spruell, as the investigation into the missing gold intensifies. Additional returning actors include Peter Davison, Amanda Drew, and Silas Carson.
Fresh faces for Season 2 include Tom Hughes (Victoria), Stephen Campbell Moore (Downton Abbey), Joshua McGuire (Anatomy of a Scandal), Tamsin Topolski (Guilt), Joshua Samuels (Saltburn), and Rochelle Neil (Three Little Birds). Also joining are Antonia Desplat, Lorna Brown, Thomas Coombes, Sean Teale, and Olivia Grant, with more details on their roles yet to be revealed.
Neil Forsyth expressed excitement over the show's continued international success, stating that the second and final season will delve deeper into the global impact of the heist. Season 2 follows the police’s high-stakes search for the missing half of the stolen gold, leading to a gripping exploration of money laundering and organized crime.
Originally launched on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, The Gold attracted 8.7 million viewers for its premiere episode and earned BAFTA and RTS Television Award nominations. All3Media International handles global distribution.
