This series perfectly complements our current lineup, as we did not previously have a period drama. Moreover, the fact that it is a Bambú production, with its renowned hallmark of quality, excited us from the very beginning. We are confident that it will become a key title in our catalog, further strengthening our presence in the international market," says Silvia Cotino, Deputy Director of Sales and Business Development at Mediterráneo.
Rocío Cachero, International Sales Manager at Mediterráneo, adds: "The great international interest sparked by La Favorita 1922 is unprecedented and showcases its enormous potential. Our clients have responded exceptionally well, and we want to thank them for the trust they have placed in this title from the very beginning. We are confident that this is just the start of a very promising international journey."
Starring Verónica Sánchez and Luis Fernández, alongside a stellar cast including Andrea Duro, Maribel Salas, Elena Maroto, Raquel Querol, Fernando Cayo, Joel Sánchez, Javier Lago, Manuel de Andrés, and Ángela Vega, La Favorita 1922 is an original idea by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, Paula Fernández, and Curro Serrano. The writing team is further strengthened by Mikel Alvariño and Luis Gamboa, with Josep Cister Rubio serving as executive producer.
One of the key attractions is its extraordinary attention to historical detail, immersing viewers in the vibrant atmosphere of early 20th-century Madrid. Filmed across multiple sets spanning over 2,000 square meters, the production required more than 500 meticulously crafted costumes, many of which were handmade specifically for the series.
