Gangs of Milan is a Sky Original series produced by Sky Studios, TapelessFilm, and Red Joint. The series will be available exclusively on Sky and streaming on NOW starting March 21.
Directed by Ciro Visco (Gomorra – La serie, Doc – Nelle tue mani), who also serves as a co-writer, the series consists of eight episodes filled with action, tension, and compelling new themes such as power, identity, and belonging. The story unfolds in an increasingly multicultural Milan, interweaving narratives of personal, familial, sexual, and criminal emancipation.
One of the most exciting aspects of the show is the involvement of Italian rap pioneer Salmo, who serves as the soundtrack's musical supervisor and also plays a role in the series. His participation adds an authentic urban edge to the storytelling.
The series follows three young protagonists from diverse backgrounds:Bea (Laura Osma, El Chapo), an ambitious South American woman torn between her loyalty to La Misa, an all-female gang controlling Milan’s high-end nightlife drug trade, and her yearning for a different life.Ludo (Alessandro Piavani – Blanca, House of Gucci, La Mafia Uccide Solo d’Estate – La serie), who returns to Milan after months away, haunted by guilt and carrying a secret.
Mahdi (Andrea Dodero – The Good Mothers, Non Odiare, L’Allieva), who unexpectedly finds himself leading Il Blocco and must make critical decisions with dramatic consequences while confronting long-repressed emotions.
The series introduces La Kasba, a young, chaotic collective embodying the restless energy of Milan’s underground music scene, blending trap, drill, and techno. At its center is Zak (Fahd Triki, making his acting debut), a dreamer with a passion for rap, striving for success while facing the harsh realities of Il Blocco. His closest friend Nael (Noè Nouh Batita, also in his debut role) is impulsive and unpredictable, often causing conflicts within their world.
Salmo takes on the role of Snake, a man who has erased his past but still feels the pull of unfinished revenge. He stars in a special sixth episode titled BÈN DÀN, a self-contained narrative centered on his character. This episode features appearances by Elisa Wong and Alessandro Borghi, further enhancing the series' star power.
Snake, now a fugitive wanted for attempted murder, is hiding within a self-sustained community in a high-rise dominated by Chinese residents. He awaits a forged passport from Arturo (Borghi), a fellow criminal within the same enclave. However, his escape plans are complicated when he encounters Kyru (Lisa Wong).
Among the other key characters is Lorenzo (Alessandro Tedeschi – Petra, Curon, Non Mentire), a former drug dealer who, after a near-death experience, undergoes a spiritual transformation and seeks redemption.
