Banijay Productions Germany is producing Rudi Völler – The Documentary for Sky Deutschland. Set to premiere exclusively on Sky and the streaming platform WOW this autumn, the Sky Original traces the life and legacy of one of Germany’s most iconic footballers. The documentary features Rudi Völler himself, alongside appearances by Lothar Matthäus, Oliver Kahn, and Julian Nagelsmann.
For over five decades, Rudi Völler has shaped German football more decisively than anyone else, and has long been one of the country’s most popular personalities. Whether today as Sporting Director for the national men’s team, the DFB, or in the past as a player, team boss or manager, no matter where he appears, he is much-loved. "There is only one Rudi Völler" is not only a well-known fan chant, but an expression of how unique his career and especially his popularity are.

Rudi Völler is a phenomenon of our time, and this Sky Original documentary not only tells entertaining anecdotes from his career, but also provides exclusive insights into his current life between the DFB and Rome, the home of his wife Sabrina.
