Banijay today bolsters its leadership team by confirming Nicolas Chazarain as its Group Chief Legal Officer. Since 2017, he has led the legal operations for the group and will continue to have oversight over the legal and business affairs for the now 22-territory strong business.
Prior to joining Banijay, Chazarain was a corporate lawyer specializing in merger and acquisitions. As partner at De Gaulle, Fleurance & Associés until 2017, he covered the aforementioned area, as well as private equity, securities law and restructuring. He has also held roles at Slaughter and May in Paris and London, and Bredin Prat in Paris.
A key leader at Banijay, Chazarain, together with his team, have been integral to the acquisition of Endemol Shine Group, supporting the process from start to finish. Partnering on the negotiations, anti-trust procedure and integration operations, he continues to lead the department across the globe with the continued objective of making the department a business partner able to accompany, strengthen and safeguard the operations of the group from a legal standpoint.
Marco Bassetti comments: “Nicolas has been an invaluable member of our central team from the word go. A trusted advisor, a great negotiator and ultimately, a pragmatic and business-oriented lawyer, he is at the forefront of our legal operations globally and continues to be vital to the smooth execution of our recent acquisition. We could not be happier to have him by our side through this exciting period of change.”
Nicolas Chazarain comments: “It’s an honour to be part of Banijay as we collectively forge a new chapter for the group – one of growth, ambition and innovation. In just three years, the business has already evolved significantly and with so much opportunity ahead, I look forward to collaborating with the team, new and old, to reinforce the legal support to the business, promote best legal practice and drive the organisation positively forward.”
