The 62nd Monte-Carlo Television Festival hosts glamourous Closing Ceremony
On June 20, the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco hosted the Closing Ceremony of the 62nd edition of Monte-Carlo Television Festival. The event, hosted by Ricky Whittle and Lena Situations, took place in the Salle des Princes where winners of the Golden Nymph Awards were announced.

The winners, selected from 18 nominated programs, received their awards in the presence of H.S.H. Princess Charlene. Other honours were also presented including the Prix du Public in partnership with BetaSeries, the Monaco Red Cross Prize and the AMADE Prize.

French feature film Le Colosse aux Pieds d’Argile won the Golden Nymph for Best Film, while Australian-British co-produced period drama series Ten Pound Poms was awarded the Golden Nymph for Best Series.

The Seed, a co-production among Germany, Norway and Czech Republic, won the Prix du Public in partnership with BetaSeries; French production Oasis of Peace was awarded the Monaco Red Cross Prize; lastly, the AMADE Prize was awarded to French production Russia: The Stolen Infants of Ukraine.

The Honorary Golden Nymph Award was presented to acclaimed Hollywood producer and writer Howard Gordon (The X-Files, 24, Homeland, Accused) by Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco.

Over the past week, the Festival has hosted an exceptional line-up of premiere screenings: in and out of competition, four World Premieres, four International, one European and two French premieres were screened over the five-day event.

Also, the extended Business Content strand saw key executives debate many current and future issues and challenges facing the international entertainment and factual programming industries.

Laurent Puons, CEO of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, commented: “The role of our Festival has continued to evolve over the years and is now the pre-eminent event celebrating the content business in Europe. Through our highly respected Golden Nymph Competition we have been able to acknowledge and applaud the very best programming from around the world. The number and standard of entries we received has never been as high and I would like to thank our pre-selection committees and every one of our distinguished jury members for all their hard work in selecting the winners for 2023. I am delighted to send my congratulations to all Laureates.”
