Amazon MGM Studios Distribution Launches Sales of New Amazon and MGM Film and Television Titles at MIPCOM
Amazon MGM Studios Distribution will offer a new slate of premium Amazon and MGM film and television titles at MIPCOM 2023. Film offerings include AIR, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Thirteen Lives, and Samaritan. Television offerings include Hotel Cocaine, Bosch: Legacy Season One, Billy the Kid Season Two, Fargo Installment 5, and the Gladiators format.

New film titles include AIR, from award-winning director Ben Affleck and starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, and Marlon Wayans. AIR reveals the unbelievable game-changing partnership between then-rookie basketball player Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division, which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand. Amazon MGM Studios Distribution is also offering Thirteen Lives, which recounts the incredible true story of the global effort to rescue a Thai boys soccer team who become trapped in the Tham Luang cave network during an unexpected rainstorm. The film is directed by Ron Howard and stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, and Tom Bateman; and Samaritan, starring Sylvester Stallone as the mysterious and reclusive Mr. Smith, who 13-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) is suspicious of, but is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Finally, Amazon MGM Studios Distribution will offer Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, written and directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim, which features Gyllenhaal as U.S. Army sergeant John Kinley, and Salim as Ahmed, an Afghan interpreter. After an ambush, Ahmed goes to Herculean lengths to save Kinley’s life.

New television series include Hotel Cocaine, starring Danny Pino (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Mayans M.C.) as Roman Compte, general manager of the Mutiny Hotel, the glamorous epicenter of the Miami cocaine scene of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. The series also stars Yul Vázquez, Michael Chiklis, and Mark Feuerstein. Also being offered are Bosch: Legacy Season One, starring Titus Welliver as Harry Bosch. A spinoff of Bosch, the first season of Bosch: Legacy follows former LAPD detective Harry Bosch as he begins a new chapter as a private investigator; The infamous outlaw returns for more adventure in
Billy the Kid Season Two, as Billy, played by Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games, Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), and his allies square off against his oldest friend Jesse Evans (Daniel Webber) and the corrupt powers of the Santa Fe Ring; and Fargo Installment 5 starring Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight).

From MGM Alternative, the Gladiators format will be available out of MIPCOM. With greenlights for series from BBC in the UK and TEN in Australia, this reinvigorated take and a brand-new cast of incredible Gladiators will be called upon to face the fresh-faced contenders in the ultimate test of speed and strength.

Amazon MGM Studios Distribution oversees the licensing of Amazon Studio’s titles, as well as MGM new release and library movies and series such as film franchises James Bond, Rocky and Creed, and series The Handmaid’s Tale, Vikings, and Fargo.

The Amazon MGM Studios Distribution stand at MIPCOM will be located on level 3 of the Palais booth # P3.A 1.
