Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group has secured a deal for the adaptation rights of Unauthorized Living in Turkey. The new version, titled "Yetkisiz" (working title), will be distributed internationally by the group. Acun Medya, the production company, acquired the broadcasting rights for TV8, a Turkish channel known for successful formats like "Survivor" and "MasterChef."
Scriptwriter Gokhan Horzum and director Volkan Kocaturk will lead the adaptation, with executive producer Esat Yontunç overseeing the process. This marks the second adaptation of "Unauthorized Living," following the Italian version, "Il Patriarca," on Canale 5 in 2022.
The original Spanish version of Unauthorized Living has achieved international success, remaining among the most-watched Spanish series on Netflix in the first half of 2023. The rights have been sold for broadcasting in the Middle East, North Africa, Uruguay, Israel, Albania, and certain Balkan territories in Eastern Europe.
Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group expressed confidence that the collaboration with Turkish talents and Acun Medya will make "Yetkisiz" a compelling addition to global television, transcending cultural boundaries and building on the series' popularity.
