Filming has started for the four-part psychological thriller Dead and Buried written by Colin Bateman and commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland and Virgin Media Television in association with All3Media International. The series stars Annabel Scholey and Colin Morgan, with additional cast members including Kerri Quinn, Waj Ali, Owen Roe, and Niamh Walsh. Produced by Three River Fiction and Vico Films, the series is supported by Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen, and Coimisiún na Meán, and will be filmed in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The story follows Cathy (Annabel Scholey), who, after encountering her brother's convicted murderer, Michael (Colin Morgan), decides to expose his successful life on social media. Re-traumatized, Cathy initiates a clandestine relationship with Michael, leading to a campaign of harassment and deceit as she seeks revenge and engages in psychological warfare.
