Filming begins for the thriller Dead and Buried
Filming has started for the four-part psychological thriller Dead and Buried written by Colin Bateman and commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland and Virgin Media Television in association with All3Media International. The series stars Annabel Scholey and Colin Morgan, with additional cast members including Kerri Quinn, Waj Ali, Owen Roe, and Niamh Walsh. Produced by Three River Fiction and Vico Films, the series is supported by Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen, and Coimisiún na Meán, and will be filmed in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The story follows Cathy (Annabel Scholey), who, after encountering her brother's convicted murderer, Michael (Colin Morgan), decides to expose his successful life on social media. Re-traumatized, Cathy initiates a clandestine relationship with Michael, leading to a campaign of harassment and deceit as she seeks revenge and engages in psychological warfare.

Colin Morgan expresses excitement about the project, while Annabel Scholey looks forward to portraying the complex character. Colin Bateman, the writer/executive producer, discusses the universal theme of the story. BBC Northern Ireland's Eddie Doyle praises the collaboration and cast, and Virgin Media Television's Anthony Nilan anticipates the intense and fun thriller. Executive producers Ben McGrath and Cormac Fox highlight the gripping nature of the noir thriller.

"Dead and Buried" is a collaboration between Three River Fiction, Vico Films, All3Media International, BBC Northern Ireland, and Virgin Media Ireland. The drama, written by Colin Bateman and directed by Laura Way, explores themes of grief and obsession. It is expected to air later in the year.
