Banijay has recently secured the format rights to Alumni Lovers, an innovative dating reality show originally launched by MBC in South Korea last December. Under this agreement, Banijay’s SimpelZodiak and Endemol France will be representing the format in the Netherlands and France respectively. The announcement was made by Helen Greaterox, Banijay's Global Head of Acquisitions, during a panel discussion at MIPTV titled 'What Buyers Want'.
Alumni Lovers brings together individuals who share the common experience of graduating from the same school, inviting them to a special dating reunion. Through a series of themed dates designed to evoke nostalgia and foster connections, the participants embark on a journey down memory lane, exploring the potential for love to blossom among them.
Banijay’s recent additions to its third-party portfolio include The Fortune Hotel from Tuesday’s Child, slated for launch on ITV soon; Genuis Game from CJ ENM, adapted by Banijay UK’s Remarkable Television, featuring David Tennant as host for ITV; and Bloody Game, originally from MBC in Korea, which premiered in Norway and was commissioned for a second season by TV2, with Mastiff Norway handling production. These titles complement Banijay’s diverse IP offering, which includes The Summit, Deal or No Deal Island, Shaolin Heroes, Banged Up, Upside Down, Will They, Won’t They, alongside its extensive catalogue of world-class IP and super brands.
