Italian Top 10: The Most Watched UNSCRIPTED FORMATS of 2024
A year full of confirmations, new entries, and nostalgic formats, with a focus on pure entertainment, especially talent shows and quiz-game shows. 
Some observations: the only four Mediaset formats in the Top 10 are produced by Maria De Filippi's production company, Fascino PGT. The list features three versions of the international The Voice franchise (Kids, Senior, and Generations but now the brand has other 3 spin-offs worldwide, Rap, All Stars and Teens), a nostalgic yet fresh reboot with Rischiatutto ‘70, and a remarkable comeback by Ballando con le Stelle, which climbed from 10th place in 2023 to 7th in 2024. At the top of the rankings is Affari Tuoi - Speciale Lotteria Italia, outperforming all competitors. Notably, there are no productions from Banijay Italia in the Top 10.

1. Affari Tuoi (Deal or No Deal)

3. Amici (Season 23)

Overall, during its timeslot from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM, the 8 episodes (excluding the finale) outperformed Rai 1's editorial proposals, achieving a 26% share among individuals and 39.1% among women aged 25-54, with 10 and 28-point increases in both targets, respectively.

4. The Voice Senior (Season 4)

8. Temptation Island (Season 12)

10. The Voice Generations

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

The most-watched program on Rai 2 is Belve, the irreverent interview show hosted by journalist Francesca Fagnani. Season 10 (April) garnered an average of 1,928,000 viewers with a 10.98% share, while Season 11 (November - December, 2024) attracted 1,636,200 viewers and a 9.78% share. The show is produced by Fremantle Italy.

Between the two seasons of Belve, another Rai 2 staple is the comedy-variety show Stasera tutto è possibile, now in its 10th season. The 8 episodes recorded an average of 1,798,400 viewers and an 11.3% share. Produced by Endemol Shine Italy and based on the French format Anything Goes devised by Satisfaction The Television Agency and licensed by Banijay Rights.

Also noteworthy are the two seasons of the game show The Floor. Each consisting of 6 episodes, the first season aired in January, drawing 1,073,800 viewers with a 6.4% share, while the second, broadcast in September and October, attracted 810,500 viewers with a 5% share. Locally produced by Blu Yazmine and distributed globally by Talpa Studios. Following its debut in the Netherlands in 2023, The Floor has been adapted in Spain, France, the USA, Germany, and Turkey, reaching a total of 11 versions worldwide and solidifying its status as a format to watch for the future.

The most-viewed entertainment show on Rai 3 is the Concertone del Primo Maggio (May 1 Labor Day Concert), broadcast live from Rome, which attracted 1,837,000 viewers with an 11.8% share. This was followed by Il Borgo dei Borghi, which aired in March and achieved 1,469,000 viewers and an 8.3% share. Both programs were produced in-house by RAI.

On NOVE, the most popular show is the talk show Che Tempo Che Fa (October 15, 2023 – May 12, 2024), hosted by Fabio Fazio. The 26 episodes averaged 2,103,600 viewers with a 10.46% share and were produced by L’Officina. For Real Time, the standout program is Bake Off Italia (September 6 – December 13, 2024), which achieved an average of 639,000 viewers and a 3.62% share across its 15 episodes. On Sky, the most-watched program on the pay-TV channel Sky Uno is MasterChef Italia (Season 13, December 14, 2023 – February 29, 2024). The culinary competition attracted an average of 730,000 viewers with a 3.87% share over 26 episodes, produced by Endemol Shine Italy and distributed by Banijay. For free-to-air channel TV8, the comedy show GialappaShow (Season 5, October 21 – December 9, 2024) earned the highest audience, averaging 865,750 viewers with a 5.06% share across its 8 episodes, produced by Banijay Italia.
