The format (80x30') is produced by Studio 89 and co-hosted by Élodie Gossuin and Issa Doumbia who welcome the contestants (families, friends, folks etc.). To win they have to correctly identify titles and artists of well-known songs from excerpts played in the studio. The winning duo progress to the final, where they have the chance to win a prize pool that increases day-by-day, and to defend their champion title. In another unique French format twist, Gulli’s Hit List welcomes a third host: Elvis, a virtual dancing yeti who gyrates across two giant screens to really get the party started!

The 26x60’ Canarian version, co-produced with Doble Diez, performed strongly above slot average (+4%), doubling the channel’s primetime performance on Thursdays, as did the 13x60’ Galician adaptation, the first episode of which averaged a 9.2% audience share, +4% above the average on 3 December 2024. The Hit List format has also been adapted locally in Finland, where the Finnish adaptation secured a 30.2% viewing sharing, making MTV the most-watched commercial channel of the night; and in the Netherlands for NPO, where Vincent TV produced the Dutch adaptation.
