Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT, one of the leading platforms for fostering series co-productions between Europe and the Americas, will celebrate its ninth edition in a brand-new location. For the first time, the event will take place in Cuenca, Castilla-La Mancha, from June 16 to 19, 2025, at the Teatro Auditorio José Luis Perales. With five annual pitching sessions dedicated to international projects, Conecta provides finalists with essential tools and insights to navigate an increasingly competitive market.
Géraldine Gonard, Director of Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT, explains: “At Conecta, we strive to give every great project the opportunity it deserves. The more than 25 titles already produced, premiered, or in production are proof of that. This success is the result of a meticulous selection process that ensures the best stories find their way to the screen.”
Last year, projects from 40 countries were submitted, with 317 meeting the admission criteria. Of these, 66% came from Europe, 31% from the Americas, and the remaining 3% from Asia and Africa, reflecting the event’s strong international reach.
The call for projects opens today, February 13, with staggered deadlines depending on the pitching session. The five international project calls for 2025 are:
PITCH DOCUDRAMA (February 13 – April 2) – Documentary series projects with fictional elements.
PITCH MUSIC (February 13 – April 3) – Fiction series where music plays a central role.
PITCH COPRO (February 13 – April 4) – Fiction projects in development seeking production partners.
(NEW) PITCH INNOVA FORMATS (February 13 – April 7) – A space for innovative formulas; unique, more immersive, personalized, and interactive, captivating the audience in a way that differs from traditional models, for both television and digital-first projects.
(NEW) PITCH DIRECT TO STREAMING MOVIES (February 13 – April 8) – For movie projects in development designed for direct release on streaming platforms, either exclusively or with the platform as the primary or first distribution window.
