From the rich catalogue of formats that Belgian distributor Primitives will be presenting at MipLondon (including a journey through a breathtaking wildlife reserve, delicious cake creations, thrilling boxing challenges, fiery political debates...), we have chosen the latest, One Magical Day, an original factual entertainment.
This is how the format, which will have its premiere on the Belgian public broadcaster VRT1 in May, is presented: “One Magical Day is a heartwarming program where everyday people experience the magic of a truly unforgettable surprise. Each episode, 3 mentalists use their extraordinary skills to create breathtaking moments for those who need them most—bringing joy, wonder, and often, tears of happiness.
The show shines a spotlight on incredible stories that deserve to be told: a grandmother, separated from her grandchildren for over 3 years due to health issues and a move across the world, is finally reunited. A freshman, struggling with the loss of her mother during the school year, finds the support she needs as she embarks on university life. A couple in their seventies, who have fostered 65 children over 4 decades, receive a well-deserved surprise in recognition of their incredible dedication.
