Leading entertainment company CJ ENM has announced that its iconic survival reality show The Genius Game is set to launch its UK adaptation with Banijay Entertainment and will be unveiled at the company’s exclusive London Screenings 2025 event Banijay @ BAFTA 195 Piccadilly

The show has earned a spot in Variety’s "Hot Picks" for London TV Screenings 2025: 20+ Shows That Should Be on Your Radar, solidifying its status as a must-watch standout in the format business.

Originally launched by CJ ENM on its K-content channel tvN in 2013, The Genius Game quickly became a fan favorite, running for four successful seasons and gaining a devoted following worldwide. Following that, the UK version, commissioned by ITV and produced by Remarkable Entertainment, has been slated for its debut in 2025, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in the show’s global success. Genius Game is represented by Banijay Entertainment across eleven international markets including the UK, Germany, Iberia, Mexico, Brazil, Israel and the Nordics.

The show has already generated significant buzz, with David Tennant confirmed to take on the role of The Creator. Following that London Screenings 2025 will be the place to show a preview promo of the UK-adapted ultimate brain challenge The Genius Game.

The Genius Game is a high-stakes, adrenaline-charged hybrid reality competition that challenges contestants to prove their intelligence, strategic thinking, and persuasion skills. Players chosen based on their social IQ, charisma, charm, and intelligence participate in a unique battle of intelligence and manipulation. As players compete in the Main Match and the Death Match, they challenge their analytical reasoning, attention to detail, memory, and loyalty. In order to become the Genius, players must form secret alliances and decide who to trust and who to betray and increase their chances of survival.

Meanwhile, the format of The Genius Game was also previously adapted in the Netherlands by NPO in 2022.
