Valeria Golino’s The Art of Joy Leads with 14 Nominations at the 70th David di Donatello Awards
 The Art of Joy, the bold Sky Original series directed by Valeria Golino, is among the most nominated titles at the 70th edition of the David di Donatello Awards, Italy’s most prestigious film honors presented by the Accademia del Cinema Italiano, chaired by Piera Detassis. The ceremony is set to take place on May 7.

Released in two parts last summer in theaters by Vision Distribution, the series – a daring and poetic adaptation of the posthumous cult novel by Goliarda Sapienza – has scored an impressive 14 nominations, standing out across both major and technical categories.
Produced by Sky Studios and Viola Prestieri for HT Film, The Art of Joy is nominated for Best Film and Best Director for Golino. It also earned a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, credited to Golino herself alongside Luca Infascelli, Francesca Marciano, Valia Santella, and Stefano Sardo.

The Art of Joy also shines for its cast, with Tecla Insolia (Best Leading Actress), Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Jasmine Trinca (Best Supporting Actress), and Guido Caprino (Best Supporting Actor) all nominated.

The series earned multiple technical nods, including Casting, Cinematography, Production and Costume Design, Make-Up, Editing, and Visual Effects.

Another Sky Original, Dostoevskij by the D’Innocenzo brothers, is nominated for Cinematography and Editing. A total of 16 nominated films are available or arriving soon on Sky Cinema and NOW.
